Kimley-Horn's is seeking a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training with 2 years of experience to join the Fort Worth, Texas (TX) office!

You will be joining a team who is focused on solving the most complex challenges across several industries and delivering projects of various sizes ranging from small commercial and retail buildings to utility scale campuses, cities, airports, advanced manufacturing facilities and data centers. • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
• Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients visions for the future built environment.
• Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horns and our clients practices, procedures, and standards.
• Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers as required.
• Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on both building scale and large-scale mechanical utility systems.

• 2 years of relevant design or consulting experience for building mechanical systems (HVAC/plumbing) and/or Central Utility Plants and Thermal Distribution Systems (Chilled water, hot water, steam and domestic water)
• Ability to navigate and interpret local, state and national codes and standards
• An ABET accredited engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) in Mechanical Engineering
• EIT/EI certification or have the ability to obtain certification
• Excellent verbal and technical writing communication
• Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients
• Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic
• Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines
• Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals
• Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD
