Kimley-Horn is Hiring an Aviation GIS Analyst Near Orlando, FL

Overview

Kimley-Horn is looking for a GIS Analyst to support our Aviation Pavement Management Civil Engineering practice in our Orlando, Florida (FL) office! The ideal candidate for this position would possess a strong willingness to embrace a hybrid work arrangement, splitting their time between the office and field.

As a member of the Aviation Pavement Management team, you will have the opportunity to travel to airports nationwide, working closely with clients to evaluate their assets and develop practical solutions tailored to their specific needs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring comprehensive and effective pavement management strategies are implemented.

In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work both in the field and collaborate with colleagues in the office. This dynamic combination allows for a well-rounded experience, where you can apply your expertise in real-world settings and work with a diverse team of professionals

Responsibilities

  • Inventory pavement attributes of pavement

  • Review design drawings and incorporate within a pavement database

  • Prepare GIS Field Map Applications for on-site inspections

  • Create ESRI Web Applications on ArcGIS Online/Portal Platform

  • Create exhibits and other data visualizations using ArcPro

  • Assist with on-site pavement/asset inspections – collecting measurements, taking photographs, documenting observations

  • Clearly communicate the results of GIS data analysis to clients/team members

  • Manage and deliver GIS associated tasks on projects under supervision and guidance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Ability to apply technical skills to meet project demands and solve problems for our clients

  • Positive attitude and an impressive work ethic

  • Clear sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet deadlines

  • Attention to details and ability to contribute to a positive work environment

  • Passion and demonstrated drive to achieve goals

  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Excel, and/or GIS

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
