Kilwins in downtown Portsmouth is seeking a reliable and dedicated store associate for year-round employment. This can be heavy part-time or full time depending on applicant. If full time, some extra benefits and increased pay will be offered.

The exact start time of shifts is somewhat flexible, however we are at our busiest during nights, weekends, and holidays and the ability to work these times is required. Flexible start time would be between 2pm and 5pm. We can consider candidates seeking a set schedule or a rotating schedule.

No prior work experience is necessary. Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting and ringing out customers
• Scooping ice cream and serving/preparing hot & cold beverages
• Cleaning and restocking the shop as needed
• Assisting with the preparation and/or packaging of our very own chocolates & confections
• Additional supervisory skills required for a full time position. No prior supervisory experience necessary, but maturity and a demonstrable ability to lead a team is required.

Candidates must possess the following skills:

• Ability to interact with customers, answer their questions, and make suggestions
• Ability to prioritize tasks and plan for future needs
• Quality control, cash management and excellent organizational skills
• Properly store and display products, keeping work area clean and clutter-free
• Ability to work well alone or with others, listen well and follow directions
• Must be customer-service oriented with cheerful personality, good manners and excellent hygiene
• Represent Kilwins with integrity, honesty and knowledge, promoting the culture, values and mission of Kilwins
• Must read and speak English and have good communication skills
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must perform routine opening and/or closing tasks
• Must have reliable transportation

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
