Basic Function:

Plan, organize, and help coordinate After School and Summer Day Camp
programs which reflect a Christian atmosphere.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Help assist & train staff.
• Handle concerns of parents and children and other situations affecting camps.
• Encourage an atmosphere of love and respect for campers and staff.
• Create a fun, safe and nurturing program for children and their parents.
• Be friendly, warm, and understanding to the children and their families.
• Assist/conduct chapel and Bible classes.
• Be prepared to share your faith with the children.
• Run/Assist with drop off and pickup.
• Take & pass DCF mandated courses and tests.
• Help oversee & schedule daily activities.
• Anticipate and redirect problems.
• Communicate directly to your peers and avoid gossip.
• Look for ways to be helpful and share your ideas with others.
• Oversee field trips to make sure safety guidelines are met.

Working Relationships:

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Children’s Camps

Other: Director of Children’s Ministry, parents, & staff.

Desired Knowledge, skills, ability and qualifications:

• Must be 21 or older and able to commit for at least one year.
• Growing Christian faith as demonstrated by active participation in normal church activities.
• Knowledge of age appropriate activities with spiritual and Biblical emphasis.
• Love of children should be demonstrated.
• Effective communication skills with children and adults.
• Ability to organize and maintain records.
• Possess or be able to obtain a Class C CDL License with P endorsement, be able to pass a doctor physical for driving, and have a good driving record over last 3 years.
• One year related experience.

Additional Information: Position is part time during the school year (September -May) and full-time (40 hrs) during summer months.
