Your Role at KIK

At KIK the ideal candidate will exhibit a desire to swiftly solve equipment breakdowns, coupled with skills in mechanics, welding, and machining, is vital. This person will operate advanced tools, set up and modify equipment for new products. This role will require skills that go beyond routine maintenance. We are seeking someone to express their unique solutions promptly and train operators interactively. It is of the utmost importance that the ideal candidate is able to work comfortably around bleach and other similar chemicals with the proper PPE provided.

This position is for the 3rd

Shift team, however, the candidate must be able to work on 1st

shift for the first 6 months of employment for training purposes.This position has an hourly rate of $30.00 per hour plus a.50 shift differential for hours worked after 1st

shift. in addition to an annual incentive bonus.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Modify, repair, install, maintain, improve, and troubleshoot various types of machinery, equipment and facilities in the processing & packaging departments
• Diagnose mechanical problems, provide quick & innovative solutions for mechanical equipment breakdowns by applying proven skills in the principles of mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, troubleshooting, and analytical problem solving
• Operate a mill, lathe, drill press, grinder, saws, hand tools, and all other machine shop tools
• Setup, takedown, and relocation of Process and Packaging equipment
• Frequently modify packaging & process equipment for new products
• Perform preventative maintenance, and safety inspection
• Provide solution to routine or unique equipment problems
• Promptly respond to equipment related issues with customer-oriented manner
• Diagnose and repair electrical problems to include process instrumentation/control systems, 24 volt DC, 120/ 208-230/480-volt AC systems, variable speed drives, and PLC related issues (primarily Allen Bradley but some Siemens systems may also be included)
• Independently identify and repair equipment issues within assigned area with minimal supervision. (Submitting parts requisition through maintenance planner or supervisor)
• Preforming planned and scheduled work on down days)
• Long periods of standing is a requirement of the position
• Lifting, twisting, carrying up to 45 lbs. is a requirement of the position
• Working in non-temperature and temperature-controlled environments
• Possibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location
• Be able to wear full face respirator as necessary
• Must be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations
• Must be able to work overtime when necessary

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 4 years mechanical experience in a high-speed packaging and/or manufacturing environment (food industry is highly preferred)
• Possess strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
• Must be flexible to work Shift Work (days, afternoons, nights, and weekends)
• Shifts are 10 hours and can be extended to 12
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with lots of changes
• Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and Lockout Procedures
• Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management software’s an asset
• Must pay attention to details with a customer service attitude
• Strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills

Physical Capabilities

• Occasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time).
• Frequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).
• Constantly exerting greater than negligible force, up to 10 pounds (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects.
• Must have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Seeing, Hearing
