Job Summary
The Nurse will administer medications and monitor delegated medication administration; assist in ensuring children are evaluated for additional services as needed; coordinate children’s therapy services; coordinate and provide health screenings.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provides daily nursing services that includes medication administration, sick children, and responding to accidents and/or incidents.
Ensures all nursing service provided are properly documented.
Ensures parents are notified of all accidents and/or incidents.
Responsible for disease prevention.
Assists in educating children and/or staff on health and safety.
Maintains emergency kit in nurse’s office as well as all classrooms.
Maintains emergency contact information for children and staff.
Reviews medical records.
Reviews evaluations to determine child’s needs and/or qualifications and processes as needed.
Renews treatment prescriptions as needed.
Renews prior authorizations for therapy services as needed.
Completes Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) and therapy audits.
Ensures allergies are documented and distributes allergy list to treatment team weekly.
Assists Audiologist with hearing screens.
Reviews immunization records and ensures all patients are current on immunizations.
Completes drug testing for employees.
Maintains Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) in a binder that is accessible.
Assists with School Age Summer Program.
Other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements
Must be licensed in the state of Arkansas as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Must be in good standing the Arkansas State Board of Nursing.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Must be willing and able to sit on the floor and get up without assistance.
