Are you looking for the opportunity to be a part of something truly extraordinary?

As a Behavior Technician or RBT at Kids First, you’ll play one of the most essential roles on our team and in the lives of our clients– you’ll be providing hands-on one-on-one therapy in our children’s homes to help them overcome challenging behaviors. If you are looking to embark on a journey of discovery where you can learn the science behind the most common, difficult behaviors plaguing our children today, we’d love to hear from you!

This position will be focused on:

  • Building Strong Connections: If you have a natural talent for working with kids, you’re in the right place. Building relationships with the children we work with is a key part of this role. You’ll also work closely with your assigned BCBA and the children’s guardians to ensure you’re on the right track.
  • Goal Tracking and Note-taking: In this role, being observant and detail oriented is essential. You will work with your assigned client to address their behaviors, while also keeping track of and documenting those behaviors. At the end of each session, you will write end-of-session notes in our data collection system.
  • Continuous Learning: The field of ABA is ever evolving and Behavior Technicians must be able to dedicate time to training and development to stay up to date with BACB guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the client’s home for therapy sessions and ensure that the client is always in a safe, comfortable, and positive environment.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by our team of experienced Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs)
  • Provide direct ABA therapy to children, focusing on skill development and behavior management.
  • Use evidence-based techniques to teach and reinforce positive behaviors.
  • Collect and record data on the progress of each child’s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the child’s family and other team members to ensure a holistic and comprehensive approach to care.
  • Receive remote and/or in-person supervision by your supervisor, the BCBA, to ensure that you are carrying out proper ABA techniques.
  • Participate in regular meetings with your supervisor, training sessions, and performance evaluations to enhance your skills and knowledge

The Must-Haves for Success:

  • A friendly and patient demeanor that can handle stressful situations with grace and understanding.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that can adapt to speaking with children, their guardians, and members of our clinical team with ease.
  • A work ethic that exemplifies a commitment to above-and-beyond customer service.
  • The ability to work effectively independently.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with children and/or adolescents on the Autism Spectrum or with other related special needs.
  • Willing to receive training on how to implement ABA therapy and/or prior experience providing ABA therapy or implementing ABA techniques/methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information (HIPAA compliance)
  • The ability to stay organized while multitasking in high-stress environments.
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Completion of the 40-hour RBT Course (If not completed, you must be willing to take the course through our company).

Why Join Kids First?

  • 20 Hours Guaranteed: We confidently guarantee that new Behavior Technicians who can commit to certain types of availability and are willing to commute within their servicing area can receive a minimum of 20 hours of sessions weekly.
  • Ongoing training and professional development: We are committed to the growth and development of our team members. As a Behavior Technician, you will have access to ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of ABA therapy.
