The Kids Central Prevention Department offers programs to help support families in the community, kinship caregivers, resource families, independent living youth, families new to the system of care, families in need of safety plan monitoring and children both in foster care and placed in the community. The services provided through the prevention department are designed to assist families to reach their full potential, to engage families in services that promote safety, family well-being, support placements and provide needed resources to children and families. These services are provided through Safety Management Services, Level I Licensing, the Guardian Assistance Program, the Family-Resource Centers, Neighborhood Center, the Kinship Program, the Education Department, Domestic Violence Advocacy, Case Transfer, Multidisciplinary Staffings, Missing Children, Human Trafficking, Permanency Staffings, Care Portal, the Volunteer and Intern Program and the Resource Center at Kids Central.

The Director will oversee the services provided in each program, support staff, establish community partnerships. attend community meetings to assist with promoting each program and maintaining on-going communication with community providers. The Director will monitor all programs through regular interaction and supervision of staff, along with reviewing data and monitoring outcome measures.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides direction and leadership to the Safety Management Services, Level I Licensing, the Guardian Assistance Program, the Family-Resource Centers, Neighborhood Center, the Kinship Program, the Education Department, Domestic Violence Advocacy, Case Transfer, Multidisciplinary Staffings, Missing Children, Human Trafficking, Permanency Staffings, Care Portal, the Volunteer and Intern Program and the Resource Center in addition to program marketing and development.
  • Provides oversight and leadership for programs assigned. Consults and advises DCF and CMA leadership regarding Safety Management Services, Multidisciplinary Team and Case Transfer staffing implementation. Will ensure peer monitoring and review of cases. Responsible for implementation and monitoring of performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Creating, developing, and managing community awareness of Kids Central programs through community education.
  • Share in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communication of programs.
  • Manages staff including recruitment, development and performance management under Prevention Services.
  • Monitors performance of Safety Management Services, Level I Licensing, the Guardian Assistance Program, the Family-Resource Centers, Neighborhood Center, the Kinship Program, the Education Department, Domestic Violence Advocacy, Case Transfer, Multidisciplinary Staffings, Missing Children, Human Trafficking, Permanency Staffings, Care Portal, the Volunteer and Intern Program and the Resource Center to include program marketing, development, and implementation of the programs.
  • Contribute to the development of Kids Central’s strategic goals and objectives as well as the overall management of the organization.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication with staff and upper management keeping them informed of all critical issues
  • Attends community events and speaks publicly regarding Kids Central prevention programs.
  • Ensures regular team and departmental meetings are hosted to share knowledge and update group on objectives and progress
  • Assist with special events at Resource Centers and Kinship Programs (April- Child Abuse Awareness, back to school, Thanksgiving, Christmas).
  • Ensure appropriate utilization of Kids Connect for referrals to all programs.
  • Attend community meetings on a monthly basis and community events and speak publicly regarding Kids Central and/or prevention programs.
  • The Director monitors and appraises the performance of each direct report, completes monthly one on one supervision along with yearly appraisals and handling difficult personnel situations swiftly.
  • Ensure service delivery in each program is performed according to the organization's mission, policies and procedures and service philosophy of Kids Central Inc.
  • Support and enhance staff's ability to perform their jobs by teaching and modeling technical knowledge and skills, work management and communication skills and conflict management skills.
  • Ensure that all solicited, collected, and documented cash and in-kind resources that are received through the Family Resource Centers, the Kinship Program and the Resource Center at Kids Central are processed according to Kids Central Policy.
  • Ensure regular team and departmental meetings are hosted to share knowledge and update staff on the objectives and progress of the Prevention Department and Kids Central.
  • Identify, educate, develop, and maintain relationships with community partners to benefit and support families in their community.
  • Ensure client surveys are completed in each program, , Kinship and the Resource Center at Kids Central, on a regular basis, collected, entered into survey monkey and analyzed on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor and analyzing the outcome measures of each program on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide information to the Community Affairs Department for Website maintenance and updates along with the annual report.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with customers, residents, co-workers and vendors
  • Convey a professional, positive image within the community and with customers, residents, vendors, and staff members, returning all phone calls and emails within 24 hours.
  • Work in a teamwork atmosphere with other staff members.
  • Undertake special projects, as requested.
  • Respect the confidentiality of clients.
  • Participates in regional and local advisory meetings
  • Makes recommendations on program design and effectiveness
  • Effectively facilitate meetings at all levels.
  • Update and maintain their Outlook calendar.
  • Utilize the APD system to clock in and out. Monitor and approve leave time, overtime, flextime and time sheets.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage their time appropriately within the work week.
  • Complete Mileage on a monthly basis, ensure staff complete mileage on a monthly basis.
  • Utilize the company car for travel as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in social work or related field and five years directly related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to pass a Level II Background Check

Valid Florida driver’s license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier

  • 100/300 insurance is required if transporting clients in personal vehicle
  • Ability to lift 10-15 pounds

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job regularly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
