Kidokinetics is a mobile sports program. We introduce sports to kids in a FUN and non-competitive way, teaching children the fundamentals of ALL sports for children ages 1 to 12 years old. Programs are conducted mostly at schools, parks, community centers, and sometimes homes.

Looking for a youth coach to serve in the North Houston area. This role will be responsible for:

Running classes

Communicating with parents and participating institutions/schools

Helping us grow the program, enrolling more children to have a great time

This is a hourly position and tasks and duties may vary week to week (occasional weekends may be required).

Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children who will be able to coach initially. As we grow and expand in the area, there may be possibility to transition to more of a managerial role, which would include overseeing more of the day-to-day coaching operations such as scheduling, training new coaches, social media, networking, and interacting with parents and schools in effort to grow the business. We are looking for someone who will take initiative, is self-motivated, and willing to work hard as we increase Kidokinetics’ presence in North Houston.

Experience:

MUST have previous experience, including at least 3 years, working with children ages 1-12 in a group setting

Preferred some background helping run a children’s program

Preferred some physical fitness related background

Preferred some teaching experience

Skills:

Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct and motivate

Ability to manage behavior and maintain discipline in a positive manner

Knowledge of physical education principles and techniques.

Ability to adapt coaching methods to meet the needs of individuals

Strong organizational skills and detail oriented

Strong interpersonal skills to deal with children, directors and parents

Enthusiastic and outgoing personality

MUST have Reliable means of transportation – we are a mobile program

MUST be willing to drive extensively in the service region to support program duties including classes and enrollment efforts

Additional requirements: High school diploma, valid driver’s license. Must pass a level 2 background check to be considered for employment.

Starting pay rate is $18-$20 hourly. Some traveled mileage will also be reimbursed, in addition to paid training.
