Kiddie Academy of Elkhorn is Hiring a Pre-Kindergarten Teacher Near Elkhorn, NE

Our 225 student academy has a dedicated Preschool/PreK program consisting of 8 dedicated classrooms for the Fall 2024-2025 school year. Our Lead Preschool and Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teachers are required to have a college degree in ECE, Elementary Education, or an education-related field. JOB SUMMARY

Takes a lead role in the one of our two PreK classrooms. Generally, partners with another teacher (para/classroom teacher) in the classroom with a total of 24 students. Is responsible for ensuring that all parents, children, and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assists and supervises children during all activities.
  • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise.
  • Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, program, and schedule.
  • Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids / materials for classroom activities.
  • Assists children with meal times and clean-up.
  • Completes all academy and classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, student accident reports, attendance reports, and Tadpoles.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings, as requested.
  • Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas.
  • Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner.
  • Maintains an ongoing portfolio for each child. Portfolios should contain photos, samples of work and anecdotal notes.
  • Communicates appropriate information to parents; while remaining professional.
  • Conducts quarterly assessments for each child and offers conference times to parents.
  • Schedules and conducts parent and teacher conferences throughout the year.
  • Maintains family information board and other classroom bulletin boards.
  • Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed.
  • Prepares classroom portion of monthly newsletter.
  • All employees are required to receive 12 hours of training each calendar year per DCFS requirements.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must meet state requirements for position.
  • CDA, Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, elementary education or an education-related field, required.
  • Previous teaching experience in a classroom setting, required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, team management skills and conflict resolution skills, required.
  • Candidate must pass a medical exam/physical and have a clear background check to qualify for employment.
  • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.
  • Must be able to get up and down off of the floor with the children. Must be able to bend over to pick things up off of the floor or set things down on the floor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
