RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Scala Software Developer III with a strong background in Data Engineering and excellent Scala skills to join their team.
Summary:
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of our data pipeline. As a Scala Software Developer III, you will collaborate closely with the data pipeline team to manage data assets effectively, enforce data governance policies, and support the end-to-end data lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
* Scala Software Developer III will act as a subject matter expert in Scala and Data Engineering, providing guidance and mentorship to the data pipeline team
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices
* Design, develop, and maintain data processing workflows and infrastructure using Scala, Kubernetes, and AWS
* Implement data quality monitoring, validation, and cleansing processes to ensure high data integrity
* Manage metadata, data lineage, and documentation to provide transparency and traceability in data processing
* As a Scala Software Developer III, you will support the identification and resolution of data pipeline issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
* Work closely with Data Scientists and Analysts to understand their data requirements and provide support for data exploration, analysis, and modeling
* Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve the efficiency and scalability of our data pipeline
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
* 5 years of professional experience as a Software Developer with a focus on Data Engineering
* Strong proficiency in Scala programming language, with hands-on experience in building data processing applications and pipelines
* Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes for deployment and orchestration
* Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and EMR
* Familiarity with data governance principles, data quality management, and metadata management
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
