Keystone is Hiring a Financial Controller Near Boston, MA

We are seeking an ambitious and self-driven individual to join us as the firm’s Controller reporting to the CFO. In this role you will lead the accounting operations of the firm and be responsible for instituting a best-in-class controls environment. The Controller will manage a team of 3 people with the potential for additional hires as the firm continues to grow. We are currently operating in a hybrid office model.

What you will do as a successful Controller at Keystone:

  • Improve invoicing and shorten the firm’s cash collection cycle.
  • Reimagine the relationship with vendors and the process for approving their invoices. 
  • Improve the collection and maintenance of key accounting inputs for management reporting including reporting for practice areas, new businesses, vendor partners (experts), debt holders, and external investors.
  • Manage a multi-currency set of accounting books and the monthly accounting close process to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the firm’s financial statements.
  • Manage the annual audit and develop and maintain the firm’s internal controls environment.
  • Manage payroll and ensure compliance with related laws and payroll tax filing requirements via our payroll system.
  • Manage the firm’s tax preparation process including providing a regular cadence of reports, review draft tax filings, and highlight key takeaways for the senior leadership team.
  • Commute into the office (if located in the Boston-area) when needed, potentially 2-3 days/week.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10-15 years of accounting experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility including work experience as a Controller and/or Assistant Controller.
  • Active CPA license or experience demonstrating equivalent accounting expertise with U.S. GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
  • Experience at a professional services firm and interfacing with members of the senior leadership team.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including ability to do complex analyses in Excel and distill and present quantitative information.
  • Ability to interface with IT team to build best-in-class accounting systems; and
  • Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite. Exposure to Google’s Looker is a plus.

US Salary Range: $140,000 - $250,000, plus an annual discretionary bonus, 401k contribution, and competitive benefits package. Actual compensation within the range will depend upon the level the individual is hired into based on their skills, experience, qualifications.
