Position Summary: A Para Transit Aide functions as an Aide to clients and the vehicle driver during transportation to/from residence and facilities. The Aide is responsible for assisting the driver with clients, communication with dispatch and navigation of the vehicle. The Aide must have a thorough knowledge of the street, highway and addressing system in which he or she will be working.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the efficient transportation of clients.
• Safely operate and maintain all equipment and tools required to assist clients in transport. Ensure cleanliness of vehicles and that they are stocked in compliance with standards.
• Ensure that all documentation is completed, timely, accurately, and thoroughly (Daily Vehicle Inspection, Daily Equipment Inventory, Department of Health, EPAB and any other required systems).
• Effectively and professionally communicate with dispatch and management according to procedure and policy.
• Exhibit courteous, compassionate, respectful treatment of clients, co-workers, client facility staff and public.
• Display a positive attitude and flexibility in changing situations to function as a success member of a team.
• Maintain a professional appearance as a representative of the company.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
• Comply with all requirements under HIPPA.
• Performs duties in an ethical manner.
• Performs other related activities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Maintain CPR card
• Prior experience working with the elderly/infirmed
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 125 pounds
• Ability to have a flexible work schedule
• Pass background screening
