Overview:
As a Land Analyst, you will play a vital role in researching, analyzing, and evaluating land assets for various purposes such as acquisition, development, or investment. Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive studies of land parcels, assessing their potential value, and providing insights to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of land use regulations and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Land Research: Assist in sourcing potential land acquisition opportunities. Conduct thorough research on potential land parcels, including ownership history, zoning regulations, environmental constraints, and market trends.
  • Financial Analysis: Assist the Land team in evaluating the financial viability of land acquisitions or developments through cost-benefit analysis, ROI calculations, and risk assessments.
  • Due Diligence: Assist with due diligence processes and investigations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of land-related data.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor local, regional, and national real estate markets to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for investment or development.
  • Market Tools: Utilize available market tools such as Metrostudy, Zonda, LandVision, LandGlide, MLS and other tools to assist in sourcing land opportunities and researching sales and marketing data.
  • GIS Mapping: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to create maps, visualize spatial data, and analyze geographic patterns relevant to land evaluation and planning.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, government agencies, and landowners to gather information and address regulatory requirements.
  • Report Generation: Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations based on land analyses, presenting findings to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, attorneys, developers, and other professionals involved in land development projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Relationship Development: Foster and maintain relationships with land developers, brokers, agents, engineers, attorneys, landowners, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Economics, or related field preferred. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MAI, RICS) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in land acquisition, land analysis, real estate research, or related field, preferably within a residential or commercial real estate firm, land development company, or consulting agency preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including financial modeling, statistical analysis, and GIS software.
  • General understanding of land use regulations, zoning laws, and environmental policies preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact with all stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be dependable, resourceful, and self-motivated.
  • Office level computer skills
