KeyStaff Professionals is Hiring a Refrigeration Technician Near Chaska, MN

Are you an experienced and team-oriented Refrigeration Technician ready to take on a new and exciting opportunity? Look no further! Our client is seeking a skilled individual to maintain and repair freeze drying, walk-in cooler/freezer, chiller compressor rack refrigeration equipment, and handle general facility maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure maximum reliability of refrigeration systems with minimal downtime to manufacturing production.
  • Take ownership of all refrigeration work, prioritizing and planning tasks.
  • Perform emergency service for refrigeration equipment as needed.
  • Operate, maintain, inspect, test, and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment and systems.
  • Independently replace or repair refrigeration components, including wiring, pipe fitting, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and start-up.
  • Execute preventive maintenance work orders for refrigeration equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Qualifications:

  • HVAC&R Pipefitter Journeyman or equivalent with vocational trade school or apprenticeship experience.
  • Universal EPA license for handling refrigerants.
  • Desirable qualifications include relevant competency cards, plumbing pipelayer's card, and boiler engineer license.
  • Continuing education in RETA and other industry-specific courses is encouraged.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with freeze dryers, walk-in coolers/freezers, and industrial chillers.
  • Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams and system schematic diagrams.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical and In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) industry practices.
  • Familiarity with vacuum pumps, air compressors, medical gas systems, and ancillary trades.
  • Proficiency in facility management and alarm systems.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and work comfortably at heights.
  • Experience in purchasing parts and supplies for equipment maintenance.
