We are a mid-sized fuel and lubricants manufacturing/distributing company looking for an experienced financial controller to undertake certain aspects of the financial management of the company, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• General overseeing of personnel and monitoring all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, and GL.
• Help prepare and publish timely, accurate monthly financial statements and bank reporting requirements.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance and accuracy.
• Support month-end and year-end close process including the recording of closing entries.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage financial facilities and furnish reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Additional controller duties as necessary

Skills

• Bachelor's degree (Major in Accounting) required and Master's in Accounting preferred
• Proven working experience as a Financial controller or similar (minimum of 5 years)
• 10 years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements
• Experience and complete understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong positive attitude and able to meet deadlines
• Well organized with ability to prioritize.
• Able to work in a fast-paced office environment under pressure.
• High level of flexibility, adaptability, and multi-tasking to meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal supervision.
