KEWAUNEE SCIENTIFIC CORPORATION is Hiring a Resin Inspector 2nd shift Near Statesville, NC

SUMMARY

Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Evaluates products at various stages of the production process, and determines conformance to engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Performs minor repairs, adjustments, and touch-up to finished products.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical or physical characteristics.
  • Data collection/records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Problem Solving
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associates’ degree in engineering / manufacturing operations or related field; High School Diploma / GED with at least 1 year experience with manufacturing / quality processes; and /or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with job site visits to include the ability to travel as needed for customer visits. Proven ability to positively interact with internal and external customers.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
