Kett Engineering is looking to hire technicians for our customer in the automotive testing industry. This is a full-time contract position with benefits is located in Farmington Hills, MI.

Job Description

The ideal candidate would have a flexible skillset in order to support a variety of testing on new product development. The technician would setup vehicles for crash testing and perform a variety of other system/bench tests. The technician will primarily work in our Safety prep lab but may also work in other functional test areas as needed.

Crash Preparation Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Remove and install prototype parts and complete other setup related items for a vehicle crash test.
• Install instrumentation, targets, mass, and other items required per test parameters.
• Setting up a measurement coordinate systems to making accurate and repeatable measurements regarding the vehicle setup with a CMM
• Assisting engineers with troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and development of effective countermeasures for vehicle testing
• Maintain a clean professional work environment.
• Compete other tasks as requested by lab supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of related automotive experience is required
• Strong automotive mechanical skills are required.
• Attention to the details is a requirement for reassembly of vehicle components.
• Experience removing and installing systems/components on a vehicle.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new tasks is required
• Experience installing accelerometers, string pots, contact switches, and other instrumentation in a vehicle is a plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
