Job Overview: Live-In Caregiver Position

We are seeking a dedicated live-in caregiver to join our team. This position involves working 3.5 days a week, from 8 am to 10 pm, providing care for a client who has been living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for 40 years and is wheelchair-bound. There is another caregiver that lives at the house that will work the other 3.5 days. As a live-in caregiver, you will reside at the client’s residence full-time, even during your days off.

Responsibilities: As a live-in caregiver, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with Daily Living Activities: Help with bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Administer medications and monitor vital signs.

Providing Companionship and Emotional Support: Be a friendly presence and offer emotional support to the client.

Housekeeping Tasks: Assist with meal preparation, laundry, and general cleaning.

Accompanying Clients: Accompany the client to medical appointments and social outings.

Documentation and Care Plans: Follow care plans and maintain accurate records of services provided.

Client Safety and Well-Being: Ensure the safety and well-being of the client at all times.

Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

Previous Experience: Prior experience in senior care or a related field is preferred.

Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with a suprapubic tube catheter and a colostomy.

Ability to lift the client using 90-point pivot transfers.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with patients.

Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and reliable.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
