Knowledge and Skills

• Must be able to perform in a 24 / 7 transportation company with multiple shifts that may include weekend hours.
• Must be able to use basic hand tools, lift, bend, stoop and carry heavy loads.
• Construction-related experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external staff.

Experience

• Must have high school diploma, GED or equivalent educational credential.
• Trade and / or vocational training preferred.
• Requires 1-3 years manual labor experience.
• Must possess valid driver’s license. CDL and / or Hoisting License is preferred.

Key Accountabilities

• Demonstrate and adhere to the Keolis Commuter Services principals of Employee Engagement, Operational Excellence & Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Corporate Social Responsibility and Economic Performance.
• Construct, maintain, repair and inspect track and Right of Way and other duties as assigned on the MBTA Commuter Rail System.
• Involves working outside in all types of weather conditions year round, as assigned.
• Ability to work well with others as well as alone as required.
• Subject to call outside normal shift.
• Work snow duty as required.
• Comply with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.
• Attend and participate in all assigned training, specifically safety and security related.
• Other duties as assigned during emergencies.

Other Requirements

Physical / Mental Demands :

• Work involves walking, talking and hearing, climbing, balancing, lifting (up to 60 pounds), bending and driving.
• Ability to perform all duties above.

• Noise Level Loud
• Shift Work May be required to work off shifts for special projects
• Travel Daily travel to various Keolis Commuter Services sites
• On-call As per collective agreement
• Team Work Work as part of the Engineering team
