Hanson, KY 42413 USA Description The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located inbeautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence,preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking Cook’s to care for our Veterans. Join our team if you want to give back to those whohave given so much for our country.

Make a lasting impression on our Veterans assisting them by :

  • Performs general cooking duties
  • Mixes and cooks specialty dishes and delicate foods
  • Maintains records of food used and supply on hand
  • Maintains dietary work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition
  • Insures proper storage of food

The ideal candidate will work within a team-centered environment to meet our commitment to serving Kentucky’sVeterans by fostering Independence, preserving dignity, and providing compassionate care.

This agency is prohibited from hiring employees with convictions identified in 906 KAR 1 : 190. A fingerprint-supported national background check will be conducted prior to an offer of employment.

This position has an approved Locality Premium of $, based on the organizational structure and work county it is currently assigned to, in compliance with 101 KAR 2 : 034 Section 9(1).

This job classification is approved for the following shift premiums, in compliance with 101 KAR 2 : 034 Section 9(2), which are applied to the base salary :

  • Second & Third shift : 15%
  • Weekend : 25%
  • Holidays : 25%

Minimum Requirements EDUCATION : NONE

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS : One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE : Vocational training in food service will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION : NONE
