We are seeking an Administrative Specialist II who is driven to succeed in helping people and the vulnerable population. This position will provide support to staff who determine eligibility in various public assistance programs. The employee is expected to perform at the highest quality to ensure services to the vulnerable citizens. Job Duties:
  • Prepare and maintain files, logs, manuals, correspondence, reports, time and attendance, financial statements or related documents
  • Create and maintain client files as well as personnel files
  • Conduct background checks and fingerprint scans to include submission of applications for foster parents and respite providers
  • Interpret regulations, policies, procedures and/or rules
  • Answer inquiries and provide information in person, by telephone or e-mail
  • Proof and/or redact documents for accuracy and assure completion of review
  • Distribute incoming mail and other materials as well as prepare outgoing mail or parcels
  • Provide recommendations of office procedures, requisitioning equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of professional, administrative, or business experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions
Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
