Kentmaster Mfg., Company looking for a Machine Shop Manager (Shop Foreman) who will oversee all processes to produce machined parts. The Machine Shop Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and execution of the department including machine schedules, CNC programs, developing setup/operational documents, machine tooling/fixtures and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish processes, specify equipment and tooling and manage all aspects of machining operations to ensure quality, safety and efficiency.
• Be hands on machines with the ability to jump in on programming and setup/operation
• Manage day to day operations of machining department.
• Setting and managing daily priorities and productivity within the machine shop.
• Design tooling and fixtures required for machining components.
• Coordinate with planning team to establish work throughput schedules which reflect the shop capacities
• Monitor workload and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
• Define all resource, machinery, tooling, training and process needs
• Oversee planning sequences and review time standards for part routings
• Oversee CNC programming code software, use, and storage
• Review new product designs for manufacturability.
• Must be able to motivate, provide leadership and create a team environment.
• To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform delegated job functions.
• Must be self-motivated and open minded to learn our machining and safety procedures
• Lays out work and produce quality parts
• Provides assistance in establishing set up and layout methods, order of operations, and application of required parts and materials
• Carries a job through from raw materials to the finished products from drawings, sketches, samples or verbal instruction
• Inspects and checks parts being produced
• Maintains accurate production records and job history

Desired Skills and Experience:

• Experience with both CNC and conventional machine tools with experience/knowledge programming and operating CNC lathes, mills.
• Open to developing new skills and take on new responsibilities
• 5-10 years experience in CNC machining industry, preferably in a lead role
• Machining knowledge in both milling and turning required
• Strong troubleshooting/process improvement skills
• Ability to train others
• Experience with programming on mills and/or lathes
• Experience with set up and operation of mills and/or lathes
• A proven ability to lead, energize, direct and motivate a great group of machinists, programmers
• Ability to manage and prioritize a number of set-ups and short run jobs.
• Able to understand mechanical drawings and tolerances.

Work Environment / Physical Demands:

• Time will be split between the office and shop floor.
• Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves hearing protection
• or masks may be required in some production areas.
• Must be able to work quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality of work
• Ability to lift and move product up to 50 lbs
