Job description

You should be physically fit/mentally sharp and; understand the basics of operating a gatehouse and patrolling on foot or golf cart. We are looking for someone who has high levels of integrity, thrives in stressful situations and has an eye for detail. Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ultimately, your goal will be to detect threats and prevent unauthorized access to the community while providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Observe and monitor property to detect theft, unauthorized access or suspicious activity while following gatehouse policies and procedures.
• Follow all gatehouse procedures when registering any visitors arriving or leaving with in the security system
• Incident report writing
• Greet visitors, residents and coworkers
• Patrol premises and scan check points during rover duty on golf cart while following all safety procedures.
• Assist in emergencies such as fire, floods, and medical emergencies, reporting them as appropriate to the security team or emergency services.
• Ensure that all staff members, contractors, and visitors are properly identified before allowing them access to the community or conducting business with them.
• Monitor security system and report.
• Conduct identity checks on company employees and contractors if suspicious activity is detected.
• Be polite in communications with customers and fellow employees.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when required

Qualifications:

• Class D Security License
• Able to speak, write and understand English clearly
• Excellent customer service skills
• Friendly and respectful demeanor
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work with computers and basic data entry
• Ability to stand, walk and operate motor vehicle for long periods of time with no physical restrictions
• Minimum 3-6 months of prior security experience, security gatehouse experience preferred
• Understanding of law enforcement practices and protocols

Pay: $17.00 per hour
