Kent’s Supply Center, Inc. is a privately held company that has been in business since 1892 with one retail store that carries lumber, building materials, hardware, and feed in Fallon, NV. We are seeking an experienced CDL truck driver with 5 years flatbed hauling experience. Piggyback forklift experience is a plus.

Job Description:

Part Time

Deliver merchandise in local and surrounding areas. Driver works part-time/on-call as necessary. Load the truck, secure load and accurately check off load, being mindful of turn around times. Understand, learn, and follow policy, procedures, and guidelines for operating of trucks and working in a team like productive manner. Become familiar with the products carried in stock and those related special-order items ordered on a regular basis.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Driving:

• Drives tractor-trailer combination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations to transport and deliver products. Maneuvers truck into loading and unloading position.
• Responsible for all company property.
• Complies with DOT and company policies with regards to driving record and drug testing.
• Inspects truck before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck condition.
• Maintains driver logs according to FCC regulations and those required by the company.
• Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluids to maintain tractor-trailers.
• Reads bill of lading/delivery tickets to determine assignment.
• Proper and accurately check off of material leaving and coming into the yard. Sign off of paperwork according to company policy.
• Must learn materials hauling

Key Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years flatbed hauling experience.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with multiple priorities in an fast paced and changing environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good judgment with ability to make timely and sound decisions.
• Self-motivated, self-starter who proactively seeks out solutions yet is a team player.
