    STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH AND FITNESS CENTER SUPERVISOR

    Grandville Public Schools is seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach and Fitness Center Supervisor. Grandville Public Schools is a Class A school with a student population of 5700 and 29 MHSAA Varsity athletic teams and 6 club sports. Grandville is a member of the OK Athletic Conference, Red Division.
    The successful candidate will report directly to the High School Athletic Director and will be responsible for all aspects of the strength and conditioning program and supervising a fitness facility. The Strength & Conditioning Coach is responsible for all aspects of design, development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of strength and conditioning programs, as well as monitoring and supervision of the Fitness Center.
    Compensation:
    • Salary range: based on experience

    Minimum/Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related area of study
    • Strength & Conditioning Certification (SCCC or CSCS preferred)
    • AED/CPR and First Aid Certification
    Requirements:
    • Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work collaboratively with multiple teams, coaches and individuals
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to facilitate safe, effective and multi-level fitness groups for individuals with varied exercise backgrounds
    • Understanding of principles specific to exercise physiology and how to translate this knowledge into evidence-based exercise interventions
    • Thorough knowledge of current evidence-based findings and standards in exercise protocols and fitness programming
    • Ability to organize, coordinate, manage, and communicate facility scheduling for a variety of teams, groups and individuals
    Job Responsibilities:
    • Work directly with the head coach of each sport to put together a schedule for strength and conditioning workout times for each team.
    • Work with entire teams during training sessions
    • Work with individual athletes
    • Provide expert instruction in the use of strength and conditioning equipment and be able to tailor different programs based on the needs of teams or individual athletes
    • Develop rehabilitation programs for athletes who have been injured
    • Educate coaches and athletes concerning strength and conditioning practices
    • Provide educational resources on nutrition
    • Adhere to all MHSAA, NCAA, conference, and school district regulations, as well as state and federal laws
    • Supervise and manage components of the fitness center
      • Oversee daily fitness center operations
      • Be present during open fitness center hours
      • Oversee routine weight and fitness equipment cleaning and maintenance
      • Maintain inventory of equipment and recommend upgrades to equipment as needed
      • Inspect cleanliness of facility and report problems
      • Report regularly to Athletic Director regarding equipment and supply updates and coordinate potential expense needs
    • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
