Kennewick School District is Hiring a Warehouse lead Near Kennewick, WA

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Passing basic skills test based on the requirements of the position.
  • Employment history in similar position(s).
  • References indicating satisfactory skills and abilities in similar position.
  • Successful completion of training or certification programs related to position.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to meet the Physical Demands of the position as indicated by taking and passing a physical capacity exam after job offer and before employment begins.
  • Completion of Safe Schools Web Based Training within thirty (30) days of hire and yearly thereafter.
  • Must pass a background check, which includes employee paid fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions. May be required to perform basic math calculations.
  • Must have a valid Washington driver’s license, a clean driving record as evidenced by a driver’s abstract, and personal transportation covered with a current insurance policy.
  • OSHA certified fork-lift certification preferred. Must become certified within three months of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Previous experience in all aspects of warehousing.
  • Forklift certification with at least 5 years of practical experience.
  • Certified Forklift trainer or certification obtained within 6 months of hire date.
  • Must uphold board policies and follow administrative procedures.
  • Must take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Must attend in-service trainings or other meetings as required, as well as attend any training as directed by management.
  • Evidence of ability to assess and correct issues involving safety.
  • Evidence of ability to establish and maintain a tactful, cooperative and effective relationship with students, parents, staff, fellow employees and management.
  • Evidence of ability to approach assigned work in a professional manner, working toward the common goal of teamwork, pride in service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Must demonstrate sufficient command of the English language to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job related activities.
  • Evidence of positive evaluations / recommendations.
  • Evidence of excellent attendance, punctuality, dependability and self-discipline.
  • Must be able to use basic computer programs to maintain records, enter timecard information and read and respond to email.
  • Physically able to do required work, which could include heave and sustained pushing, pulling, lifting and frequently moving up to 75 lbs.

and occasionally up to 100 lbs., squatting, bending, stooping, carrying, possible climbing of ladders and other functions that are physically demanding.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of US mail regulations and postal procedures.
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of postal processing equipment.
  • Experience using fixed asset management systems.
  • Experience using shipping and receiving tracking systems.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to problem solve.
  • Able to organize and prioritize to meet district needs and deadlines.
  • Able to keep accurate records.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate and maintain postal processing equipment.
  • Accurately process and record district incoming and outgoing mail following USPS guidelines.
  • Compile monthly reports of district postal costs and maintain an appropriate fund balance on account.
  • Stay current on all applicable USPS mailing rules and regulations and assist district staff with mailing options.
  • Tag and enter new district equipment into the fixed asset system, change item status as needed, and maintain system to ensure accurate accounting of district property.
  • Train and assist district FA representatives throughout the district.
  • Facilitate an annual audit of all fixed assets within the district.
  • Develop and maintain a training program for forklift certification per OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide forklift certification and ongoing training for all departments throughout the district.
  • Keep accurate forklift training records to ensure the district stays in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
  • Process, track, and record all outgoing packages.
  • Organize surplus storage and assist Purchasing Manager with the annual surplus sale preparation.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Warehouse Lead and Purchasing Manager.
  • Facilitate all recycling storage and pick up.
  • Assist warehouse lead and staff with receiving, inventory, order processing, and other duties as assigned by the purchasing manager.
  • Assume the daily duties, including directing the workforce, in the Warehouse Lead’s absence.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Language Skills : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, product labels, and procedures. Ability to write effectively, and use e-mail correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

  • Mathematical Skills : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to calculate percentages, discounts, proportions, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Reasoning Ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Lifting : The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and / or move up to 100 pounds;

occasionally lift and / or move over 100 pounds.
