Kennedy Jenks is seeking a Construction Inspector to work on major water related infrastructure projects in California. Travel will be required for this position. The Construction Inspector will provide construction oversight on small to large scale water and wastewater infrastructure public works projects including water, wastewater, treatment, pipeline, pump stations and reservoirs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide daily onsite oversight of contractor and its construction activities under supervision of the Construction Manager/ Resident Engineer.
  • Perform necessary inspections to ensure the project is being constructed in compliance with the contract requirements and applicable permits.
  • Provide daily written reports detailing daily activities, labor and equipment.
  • Track contractor schedule compliance
  • Prepare written communication between owner and contractor
  • Coordinate meetings with contractors, clients, and staff
  • Provide quality control inspection of contractor’s work
Qualifications:
  • 3 years’ experience with all facets of construction including civil, mechanical and electrical installations.
  • Experience with sewer rehabilitation, municipal projects, water and wastewater pipelines, agriculture pump stations, and/or water or wastewater treatment plants, for both new construction and rehabilitation, is strongly preferred.
  • Certifications for specialty inspections of steel, concrete, welding, coatings, and other aspects of infrastructure projects is a plus.
Work Locations: Openings in Oxnard, CA and Orange, CA,
Hourly Pay Rate for this position is anticipated to be $40.00 - $65.00 per hour, and may vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, skills, licensure/certifications, seniority and geographic location. Many of KJ’s California public works projects are prevailing wage projects; therefore, KJ matches the prevailing wage requirements; many times, prevailing wage is higher than base pay rate.
