Role: Applications Engineer

Kennedy Industries is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Applications Engineer with a background in Civil or Environmental Engineering to join our dynamic team at one of the leading wastewater companies. The Applications Engineer will provide clients with technical expertise, support, and solutions, ensuring the system water and wastewater treatment technologies and systems are effectively implemented. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the customer, sales team, and internal departments to deliver tailored solutions that address client needs and environmental challenges.

Essential Functions

• Engage with clients to understand needs, goals, and regulatory requirements
• Provide expert guidance on the selection and customization of water and wastewater technologies and systems-based client-specific parameters
• Develop and design wastewater treatment and conveyance solutions that meet client's specifications taking into consideration process optimization, environmental impact, and cost-effectiveness
• Prepare and assist with technical proposals, including process flow diagrams, equipment layouts, and estimated project costs.
• Responds to operations team needs for supporting data, reports, submittal information, and post-installation analysis
• Collaborate with the internal cross-functional teams, including sales and estimating, to ensure seamless communication and coordination throughout project lifecycles.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including design calculations, technical specifications, and post-project reports
• Offer technical support during the implementation phase, assisting with equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Provide on-site assistance during installation, start-up, and testing of wastewater treatment and conveyance systems
• Manage and oversee project timelines, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within budget
• Regularly update stakeholders on project progress and address any issues that may arise
• Stay updated on local and national wastewater regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure all solutions are designed and implemented in compliance with relevant laws
• Develop customer AutoCAD drawings
• Provide customer presentations on current treatment and conveyance technologies
• Coordinate and attend customer meetings with equipment principals

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Environmental Engineering preferred
• 2-4 years of experience working as an engineer
• Strong understanding of wastewater processes, technologies, and equipment
• Proficiency in relevant software tools for engineering design and analysis, including AutoCAD
• Experience in designing and implementing wastewater treatment and conveyance solutions is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office programs; MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
