The Reading Intervention Specialist is a reading endorsed teacher of reading who works specifically with K-8 students who require strategic and intensive intervention. The focus of the intervention specialist is to develop a student centered system of intervention that effectively works to close the achievement gap in reading. The goal of the intervention specialist is to ensure that the students are able to master grade level standards and curriculum by instructing students not meeting state reading standards.
