We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies and patients.

Responsibilities:

• Review and verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy and completeness for billing purposes.
• Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, government agencies, and other third-party payers using electronic billing software or paper forms as required.
• Follow up on outstanding claims, denials, and unpaid accounts receivable to identify and resolve billing issues in a timely manner.
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers to clarify billing discrepancies, obtain additional information, and appeal denied claims as necessary.
• Post payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately to patient accounts in the billing system.
• Generate and analyze aging reports, claim status reports, and other financial reports to monitor billing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures, including reconciling accounts receivable, preparing financial reports, and analyzing revenue trends.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding principles and guidelines.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour
