Description

MISSION:

The mission of the Associate Director of Operations is to be a leader along side the Director of Operations and support the BU as necessary. This involves, but is not limited to, fostering a Safety culture, managing finances, driving our Lean and CI culture, using data to drive operational improvements, holding Site Managers accountable, and working as a team to accomplish the goals of the organization. The Associate Director will use their well-rounded knowledge of the business to maintain cohesiveness within the BU and continue driving the organizational goals set forth by the Director of Operations.

OUTCOMES:

OUTCOME: Ensure overall financial success of the BU

  • Monitor controllable expenses, ensure costs savings are identified in key areas (focus on generating impactful financial results)
  • Control costs through managing flex, reviewing monthly financials, and making data driven decisions
  • Look for ways to surface margin erosion or other cost savings opportunities to maximize profitability

OUTCOME: Continuously leverage all areas of the BU to achieve cohesiveness and overall success

  • Spend time with all areas of the BU outside of the weekly meeting to maintain alignment
  • Lead weekly meetings in the event the Director of Operations is unable
  • Guide other members of the BU to work with the other departments (build the bridge between departments)

OUTCOME: Drive the continuous improvement culture

  • Challenge current processes and work methods within the BU
  • Champion cross functional team Kaizen events
  • Support each area in achieving their monthly CI goals (JDI/A3’s/4 Panels)
  • Drive ESP and foster a culture of employee engagement at all levels

OUTCOME: Support the Director of Operations of the BU

  • Take the initiative on high priority items to follow through completion
  • Attend meetings and discussion as necessary to not lose momentum due to Director of Operations availability
  • Collect, summarize, and provide feedback to the Director of Operations on updates within the BU

OUTCOME: Contribute to Growth and Success of the Organization

  • Manage capacity planning for labor, equipment & facilities based on current and future growth
  • Ensure succession plans are in place and met to support development of bench strength
  • Bring a “can do” attitude to the BU and work closely with sales to ensure growth readiness
  • Encourage active engagement in Kem Krest culture and practice / teach our core values
  • Set a personal example for others to follow
  • Spearhead site specific transformation plans

OUTCOME: Inventory Management

  • Support expired product/SLOB efforts to maximize space and cash flow
  • Ensure adherence to Inventory Accuracy Standards in all sites

OUTCOME: Customer Focus

  • Ensure proactive and timely communication to customers when needed
  • Foster a strategic partnership with all customers up and down stream
  • Work to provide cost savings opportunities

OUTCOME: KPI Goals Focus

  • Drive towards surpassing BU KPI Goals in Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost
  • Ensure timely communication of actual metrics to the Team
  • Continuously train the team in importance of managing the business against metrics as a best way to serve Kem Krest customers
  • Work to ensure red KPI’s have countermeasures that are actioned upon

Qualifications


STRENGTHS TO BE SUCCESSFUL: 

  • College degree preferred but not required
  • Exceptional work ethic and desire to succeed
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional experience 5-10 years in Fulfilment, Supply Chain, or Logistics
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint required), working knowledge of Power BI would be high desirable
  • In depth understanding of Kem Krest and how the organization operates
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate business needs
  • Open to travel 25%
