Job Summary:

Our client is hiring a Data Scientist to join their team in Stamford, CT! This is a contract to hire opportunity with a highly collaborative team that works onsite 5 days/week. The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Machine Learning or NLP/LLM modeling space, skilled in improving data impacts and efficiencies. Additionally, this individual should be experienced utilizing Python, SQL, and Cloud Experience either in Azure or AWS.

Duties:

  • Data mining complex data and providing systems-related advice for their organization
  • Design new ways to incorporate vast information with a focus on information technology topics
  • Work with teams of other IT professionals to manage statistical data and create different models based on the needs of their company
  • Process research information for easier consumption and transform it into actionable plans
  • Provide value to their businesses through their findings and thoughtful insights
  • IT data scientists follow specific, strict company and industry guidelines in their work
  • Observe data privacy rights to ensure client satisfaction and avoid legal issues
  • Create networks of professionals to consult, including internal partners and external colleagues
  • Work in teams using collaborative filtering, k-nearest neighbors, market basket analysis and matrix factorization methods
  • Deal with cutting edge technologies on a regular basis, and often have the best tools available at their disposal
  • Typical day in the role/task breakdown %: 30% model building; 40% data engineering; 20% solution development; 10% meeting

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 3 years of experience as a Data Scientist in an enterprise environment
  • Advanced knowledge of different data mining techniques such as clustering, regression analysis, decision trees and support vector machines
  • Python experience
  • SQL experience
  • Cloud Experience, specifically in Azure or AWS
  • Experience working with Machine Learning or NLP/LLM modeling, highly desired
