Overview

The Shipping/Receiving Material Handler is responsible for receiving components, goods and supplies, logging shipments, distribution of packages to personnel, assist in storing supplies and performing accurate inventory cycle counts. Prepares packages for distribution and shipment both domestic and internationally. Additionally, is required to move supplies, materials and equipment to and from receiving, shipping and storage areas, and perform order picking.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Works from freight bills and packing lists from incoming trucks to process supplies, materials and equipment

• Receives, counts, visually inspects, and verifies parts numbers on supplies, material and equipment
• Maintains shipping stations are in working order and stock with materials
• Enter data pertaining to domestic and international shipments into the company’s ERP system and into the shipping systems of commercial freight carriers

• Monitor the supply of packaging materials and requisition additional supplies as required

• Confirm physical shipment of goods and facilitate tracking of packages

• Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up of goods

• Identify errors on packing lists & invoices and correct them
• Utilize computer to query various screens to retrieve pertinent information, adjust inventories and record transactions.
• Perform pick and pack, kitting and shipping operations to fulfill customer requirements.
• Maintain adequate levels of supplies and consumable material based on area needs.
• Operate a variety of materials handling equipment including standup / sit down fork lifts, stackers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent combined education and experience.
• Required -- Minimum 6 months job related experience as a Material Handler, Warehousing, Shipping and Receiving
• Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision making abilities
• Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
• Ability to step up on forklift truck several times per shift and lift 25-50lbs up to 30 times per hour and lift up to 50lbs as needed.
