• We are seeking an *Insurance Billing Specialist *for one of the world’s leading private research institutions in Los Angeles, with a strong tradition of integrating liberal and professional education, in *Alhambra, CA Location : 100% on-site Contract : 6-months (possible convert to FTE) Pay : $30.

43 / hr. RESPONSIBILITIES*Maintain current understanding of billing and coding guidelines that affects the organization practicesEnsure claims are consistently billed properly.

Review and resolve claim edits in the billing scrubber for all government and non-government payersBills claims withing 48 72 hrs of creation dateCoordinate rebill requests from internal Compliance department collections team, audit team, customer service, HIM, and vendors among other areas.

• SKILLS : Insurance knowledge : Commercial and Public* Problem-Solving, Critical Thinking* Independent worker / Self-management* Quick learner* Computer Savvy (we use many online portals and 2 EMRs) knowledge of Microsoft Office : Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Excel* Good Oral and Communicational skills*QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma* Billing and Coding experience 1-2 year minimum* Billing and Coding Certificate is a PLUS* Minimum three (3) years experience in medical insurance billing, facility billing preferred* Effective time management and the ability to prioritize work.
