Job Overview:
Dr. Kelly Paxton and Dr. Jim Rutledge are looking for an experienced dental assistant to join our team. Our office has been serving the community for over 40 years while treating multiple generations of families. The ideal candidate would be someone who appreciates a hometown dental office feel with focus on providing the best care for our patients. Our present opening is primarily for a dental assistant, but front desk experience is a plus. Our office has a single location open Monday through Thursday, with no evening or weekend hours.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, such as pouring and trimming models, fabricating temporary crowns, and sterilizing instruments
- Maintain accurate patient records and document medical information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's appointment calendar
- Assist with dental billing and coding using Dentrix software

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program preferred
- Current certification in dental radiography
- Proficiency in using dental software, such as Dentrix, for appointment scheduling, billing, and coding
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions and restorations
- Ability to take accurate vital signs of patients
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used in dentistry
