Job Summary

Established plumbing and mechanical contractor currently seeking an experienced Pipefitter in the Tallahassee area. This position will be responsible for pipe fitting and welding for projects including schools, hospitals, health science and commercial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Pipe fitting and preparation including cutting and grinding
• Assemble and install pipes and fittings according to specifications and plumbing codes
• Lift and/or moving pipes and fitting s
• Coordinate all equipment and material to complete the job
• Weld steel, stainless steel or aluminum piping as required
• Install all supports as required
• Pressure test pipe as required

Skills

• Ability to read blueprints
• Knowledge of tools, machines and pipe fitting methods
• Excellent communication skills
• Work independently
• Ability to work outside on a construction site

Required Qualifications

• 3 years of pipe welding experience
• Must possess a minimum of steel pipe welding certificate or be able to pass the certification test
• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• Willing and able to work a 40 hour week
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Work outside in various weather conditions
• Clear criminal record for educational and correctional facility projects
• Valid photo ID
• Must be willing to pass a pre-employment drug screen
