Position: Staff AccountantDepartment: FinanceReporting Structure: ControllerReporting to this position: No direct reports BASIC FUNCTIONPrepare and maintain company financial records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain General Ledger; journal entries and account analysisGenerate and interpret financial reports and statementsPerform monthly closingsReview, analyze and track inventory and reconcile variancesReview, analyze and report job costing data to management with comparison to pricing structures.Analyze P&L/Expenditures/Balance sheet and KPI’sPrepare budgets, forecasts.Perform other related duties as assigned.Record transactions relating to payroll activity/expenses (wages/taxes/vacation etc)Prepare accruals and other adjusting /reclasses entriesRecord and maintain monthly corporate fixed assetsReconcile prepaid expenses and ensure proper amortization of various expensesRecord all Inter-company transactions SKILLS & ABILITIESStrong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel (at an advanced level), Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and AccessAbility to organize and manage multiple priorities.Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently on assigned projects.Capable of following all required SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety programs.Familiarity with Macola Accounting Systems (preferred) PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
