Title: Quality Control Technician – Product Lab

Reports To: Sr. Manager-Quality & Document Control

Department: Quality Control

Supervises: N/A

Organizational Relationships:

Contact with all areas of Quality Assurance and operational personnel.

Basic Function:

Performs diversified product (both bulk and finished product) testing involving mechanical and/or chemical tests and laboratory investigation under general supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Review of data correlation or Quality product test results for release of bulk for filling. (Physical testing, viscosity, pH, SG, meltpoint, breakage, crush and penetration.)
• Batch and raw material shade approvals.
• Reports testing results to compounders and supervisors.
• Records and reports data. Works with production personnel when assigned.
• Must be familiar with functions and operation of all laboratory equipment.
• Responsible for normal equipment maintenance and cleaning of laboratory glassware inclusive of individual assigned work station.
• Where applicable will be involved with customer contact.
• Prints specification sheets from batchpak.
• Marries test sheets and samples for evaluation.
• Perform daily checks (temperature) on ovens and incubations.
• Maintain and review notebooks.
• Retain organize batch samples.
• Organoleptic evaluations.
• Maintain masters.
• Perform balance checks, daily pH, thermometer, viscometer, chatalon, penetrometric calibrations.
• Review customer supplied bulk and Certificate of Analysis.
• Review batch cards for release to pre-weigh.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of related experience.
• Computer literate.
• Effective communication skills - internal and customer interface - to resolve issues and relay information.
• Ability to follow written (TM’s and SOPs) and verbal instruction.
