EDUCATION:

• Graduate of a nursing degree program; BSN preferred. ASN accepted.

Must-Haves Med Surg RN

1. Registered Nurse in the state of Texas

2. 1 Year of Medical Surgical experience

3. 1 Year of Short-Term Acute Care Hospital

Nice-To-Haves Med Surg RN

1. BLS from AHA

2. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Texas and/or Compact RN license.
• Requires current basic life support (BLS) certification. Some units may require Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification.
• Additional certifications may be required for certain practice areas.

Med Surg RN Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our medical/surgical team. As a Registered Nurse, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. This position is based in a hospital setting and requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Med Surg RN Responsibilities:
- Perform physical examinations and assessments on patients
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess changes in health status
- Assist with procedures requiring aseptic technique
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, treatment plans, and preventive measures
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Athenahealth
- Assist with family planning services as needed
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
