Job Summary

Provides guidance to students in specialized areas and personal support services, including student wellness, food pantry, diversity program, student emergency fund and counseling department programs to overcome non-academic barriers to increase retention and graduation rates.

Serve as Starfish(First Alert) case manager for the counseling department.

Job Duties :

  • Develop and implement the wellness program.
  • Assess student needs and offer wellness coaching.
  • Build external partnerships for the wellness program.
  • Facilitate student referrals and appointments, collect data, organize reports.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and The Student Belonging program to accomplish goals and enhance the wellness program.
  • Serve and lead committees as needed.
  • Serve as case manager for the counseling department as needed.
  • Support student programs designed for diverse and targeted student populations.
  • Conduct counseling services : intake appointments, outreach, solution-focused support, process referrals and coordinate student appointments.
  • Establish external partnerships for the department to enhance services.
  • Assist the food pantry with inventory food pantry items, order products, keep track of data, and create reports.
  • Prepare and deliver pantry orders (including physical work / lifting).
  • Support Associate Vice Complete with business office related paperwork and administration for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 3-4 years relevant experience
  • Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse population.
  • Experience working at the community college level.
  • Ability to present to different populations about sensitive topics.
  • Experience with social media platforms.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself / herself professionally and courteously.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Master's degree or equivalent and 4-6 years of experience
  • Case management experience
  • Previous counseling experience
