KCEOC Community Action Partnership is Hiring a HS Tch Aide Near Girdler, KY

Full time position assisting the Teacher in providing services and implementing a planned center-based curriculum for 3-5 year old children.

Duties and Responsibilities

Integration of agency programs and services places you in a position of cooperatively: seeking advice from other employees; sharing of program information; and assisting in other work units when needed. All employees must be conscious of and develop habits in: reducing waste, eliminating duplication of services, improving productivity and cost effectiveness.

The duties of Teacher Aide include but are not limited to;

  • Acquire knowledge of and implement accordingly the Head Start Program Performance Standards.
  • Promote school readiness for all children.
  • Have an understanding of the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework.
  • Work cooperatively with other Child Development staff in the planning, integration, and implementation of EHS/HS program services for children 0 to 5 years of age.
  • Become competent in the use of designated computer programs, and use properly in the operations of the Child Development Program.
  • Responsible for compiling designated reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the annual program self-assessment process.
  • Gain a working knowledge of all programs operated by KCEOC for the purpose of providing information, making referrals and the delivery of integrated services to clients.
  • Preserve the privacy of all children and families enrolled in KCEOC’s Child Development Program by maintaining the confidentiality and security of all family information.
  • Responsible for generating an appropriate amount of non-federal share (in-kind) that is reasonable and necessary for the operation of the Child Development Program.
  • Responsible for obtaining the annual required number of Child Development training hours per local, state and federal regulations through KCEOC’s Pre-service Training.
  • Maintain certification by a recognized source such as the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross in CPR and First Aid Safety.

In addition, the duties of the Teacher Aide include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for assisting the Teacher in the provision of services to Head Start children in a center-based setting. Assisting with implementing a planned classroom curriculum for developmentally appropriate activities with Head Start children in the absence of the regular Teacher; carrying out daily activities; and completing all required paperwork in a timely, accurate fashion.
  • Participate and offer suggestions in conferences, meetings, training, and recruitment activities. Work cooperatively with all staff, parents, and volunteers; be responsive to the challenge of providing integrated comprehensive services when the need arises.
  • Encourage parent participation in the development and educational experiences, both in the home and in the classroom of children when applicable.
  • Be responsive to the challenge of providing integrated comprehensive services.
  • Work cooperatively with the Family Child Advocates in assessing and meeting the needs of enrolled children and their families. Assist and ensure that communication between Family Child Advocates, Teacher and parents is provided timely by delivering messages and written communication as requested.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and age appropriate learning environment.
  • Assist the children in their daily routines of hand washing, tooth brushing, etc.
  • Assist with mealtime duties such as setting table, serving, eating and cleaning up.
  • Consult with teacher to gain an understanding of acceptable methods for handling discipline concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Child Development Associate Degree and or a comparable equivalent of secondary education and work experience

Additional Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation
