Field Support Design Engineer I
KCC is an employee-owned company with multiple divisions related to construction, local HVAC service, and the design/manufacturing of commercial HVAC equipment. This position is for the division that designs and manufactures commercial HVAC equipment, which includes rooftop packaged units, air handlers, DX and hot/chilled water systems.

Summary:
A Field Support Design Engineer I provides essential support to customers and field service technicians for HVAC equipment and systems. This position is an introductory design role that answers inquiries and provides field solutions for assemblies in KCC’s products not directly related to the refrigeration or electrical systems. This position is responsible for identifying and quoting existing sheet metal parts/assemblies for field modifications or repairs, creating simple installation instructions, and communicating these requirements to customers. Occasionally will provide support to the senior design engineers on larger projects.

Essential Functions or Responsibilities:

Answer incoming customer inquiries related to KCC’s products utilizing Solidworks assemblies and in-house manufacturing floor.
Assist senior engineers with field applied solutions for HVAC equipment.
Generate Bill of Materials (BOMs) from existing designs for field modifications and repairs using Solidworks and existing supplemental resources.
Create simple instructions and drawings for field modifications using Solidworks.
Attend training sessions or continuous education courses to improve technical knowledge and skills.
Other duties, as assigned.
