Title:Certified HVAC Technician
The Defense Systems Engineering (DSE) business unit provides full spectrum engineering and technical solutions in support of DoD military systems on land, at sea, in the air, space and cyberspace.
DSE business unit is looking to hire a
Certified HVAC Technician with a security clearance to support our government customer located in Washington, DC.
Position Description:Operates and maintains stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as air compressors, generators, motors, and turbines to provide heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning for buildings and industrial processes. Reads meters and gages or automatic recording devices at specified intervals to verify operating conditions. Records data, such as temperature of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature or pressure, water levels, analysis of flue gases, voltage load and generator balance. Adjusts manual controls or overrides automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended or prescribed operating ranges, switch to back-up equipment or systems, or to shut down equipment. Inspects and maintains equipment. Applies skills in operating and maintaining chillers, air compressors and all associated pumps, piping, pressure vessels and cooling towers. Familiarity with automated control and monitoring systems.
Experience working with a team or alone such as an out-of-hours response situation.
Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires 5 years of experience.
- Required to hold applicable license / certification.
- Active Secret clearance required to start, with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.
