Job Summary: To support KBI's digital transformation, KBI Biopharma is looking for a passionate Digital Product Owner to lead the creation of one of our digital products which supports the MS&T and Manufacturing departments. The purpose of the product is to improve the efficiency of business processes and data access, analysis and visualization. This role would join the small and dynamic “Digital Product and Advanced Analytics” group within the IT department, and work alongside a diverse group of product owners, software developers and data analysts. At the frontier between pharmaceutical manufacturing and software development, the person in this role will have the opportunity to show leadership, grow a lot and become a key contributor to our Digital Transformation journey, bridging our company’s processes (business and scientific), the team building the software, and other global groups involved in Digital Transformation. Job Responsibilities: Work with the product’s Executive Sponsor (ES) to understand the product’s vision, its technical and business value and how to realize the combination of technical and business value. Translate the vision into a series of product releases that will deliver the business value to the target departments/end-users. Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the Solution Architect to translate releases, requirements and capabilities into a set of developable features that can be handed to the software development team. Build, prioritize and maintain a backlog of product features/improvements. Ensure constant clarity in terms of what is to be executed next by the execution team. Work with the software development team to identify features that will require MS&T workflow changes. Work with the ES and the target department(s) to assess, communicate, and implement process changes when required. Attend meetings to support the development team, communicate on the vision each story is part of and resolve execution blockers. Regularly present completed work to all stakeholders. Support the ES in promoting the product's vision internally at KBI. Update, document and communicate to all stakeholders on the product's roadmap and the product's progress. Support the product's deployment to end-users. Collect end-user and other stakeholder's feedback and alter the product's roadmap to take their feedback into account. Evaluate the business impact of software releases and upgrades. Coordinate, communicate, and support their execution. Work with the software developers/provider and the IT department to review and ensure and validate the product’s security. Be the point of contact for audit questions related to product validation, if applicable. Develop (if needed) and manage user training for product use/access, if applicable. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related field or a Bachelor’s degree and 2 additional years of experience in a product owner role. Minimum of 3 years of experience and proven track record as a Product Owner. In that or an equivalent role, proven track record of product design, gathering requirements through interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis, ideally at the interface with (life) science. Minimum of 2 years in a pharma regulated (FDA) environment. Excellent skills gathering requirements through interviews, data analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis. Excellent presentation and communication skills with an ability to understand and explain complex processes and scenarios in a simple manner. Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain strong relationships with end-users, stakeholders, and clients. Customer focus with the emotional intelligence to collaborate with users to gather requirements to enable workflow and feature definition. A passion for technology and an appreciation for the incredible work our scientists and engineers do. Preferred experience with operating within Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum). Salary Range: $74,8800 - $102,900. Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
