KBC Management, LLC is Hiring an On-Site Assistant Property Manager Near Portland, OR

KBC Management, Inc. is seeking an on-site assistant property manager to support a small/mid-size vintage apartment building (< 50 units). As the assistant property manager you will ensure tenant and client satisfaction by taking stellar care of the building and its community.

What will you do?

  • Walk your buildings’ common areas daily making sure that the building is tidy inside and out, performing cleaning, like vacuuming, dusting, and picking up debris.
  • Help tenants with lock outs and maintenance requests as needed.
  • Your schedule is flexible! You have the freedom to create your own regular schedule for cleaning and daily/weekly duties. This job requires you to be on-call to help with tenant lockouts and simple maintenance requests and check ups. Your role will include being available to help tenants within a reasonable time frame and so this job isn’t for the jet setter or the person who likes to spend most of their time away from home.
  • Occasionally work with our marketing team to provide photo content showcasing the great aspects of living in a KBC property and the surrounding areas.

Hours & Compensation:

  • Hours: Approximately 6-10 hours per week, with variations based on apartment showings and tenant/building needs.
  • Compensation: Receive a full or partial rent credit, depending on the building (ranging from $1,000 to $1,500).

Requirements/Expectations:

  • Living on-site in inner Portland
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of landlord-tenant laws and property management best practices (training provided).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Basic maintenance skills and knowing when to escalate to professionals or to our in-house maintenance team.
  • Customer relationship management skills to build rapport with tenants and address their needs.
  • Excellent phone etiquette when interacting with tenants over the phone.
  • Knowledge of property leasing laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Be available to address after-hours emergencies when necessary and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Valid US work authorization.
