Kaukauna Utilities is searching for a qualified candidate to fill the Information Technology Specialist. The IT Specialist is responsible for the effective operation of information technology services and support across our utility business. The Information Technology Specialist serves as a technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks. The IT specialist plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. They evaluate new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the staff's work through technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the service desk ticketing system.

Works on scheduled service requests and planned changed to device configurations for routine maintenance, hardware replacements, and non-urgent requests.

Provide, deploy, and maintain networked workstations for end users within the outlined workstation lifecycle process.

Performs maintenance on servers to keep up to date and avoid vulnerable configurations. Work with SANs and NASs in our virtualized server environment.

Works with network management tools for monitoring and basic troubleshooting network-related issues.

Operates a backup system for servers and workstations. Performs restoration of files and systems as needed.

Assists with research and procurement of technology – hardware, software, and services.

Administers the Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Office 365 environment, and other variety of systems that make up our unique environment: email filtering, mapping, webpages, accounting, time management, network management, cybersecurity awareness training, and other applications and portals.

Education and Experience

Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated ability to exemplify our organizational values of safety, customer service, leadership, engaged, trusted and continuous improvement.
