Position Type: Full-Time Reading Specialist for Lower School General Studies

Your Chapter in Our Story:

  • Foster a love for reading in our young learners, introducing them to the joy and wonder of books.
  • Implement targeted reading interventions and strategies to support students at various reading levels, helping them to become confident and proficient readers.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate effective reading practices into the broader curriculum, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress, using data to tailor instruction and celebrate achievements.
  • Be a champion of literacy within our school community, sharing your passion and expertise to create a culture where reading is celebrated and valued.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds a degree in Education, Reading, or a related field, with specialized training or certification in reading instruction (such as Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, etc.).
  • Has experience lighting the way for emerging readers, with a proven track record of enhancing literacy skills in young learners.
  • Possesses a creative and adaptable teaching style, with the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Is a collaborative spirit, eager to work as part of a dynamic team of educators.
  • Has a genuine passion for reading and a desire to make a lasting impact on students' educational journeys.
