Kasai North America is Hiring a Development Test Engineering Manager Near Manchester, TN

Description: Responsible for leading the development test engineering teams, providing technical direction, processes and best practices for product testing services

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product testing activities assuring adequate resources and timely test result report
  • Receive, review and assign test requests
  • Ensure that the testing group processes, methods and documents meet internal requirements and the automotive industry standards for KNA related products
  • Ensure the access to up-to-date material/product specifications and test methods for the testing team
  • Ensure that the test equipment meets all the test methods requirements
  • Ensure the equipment operating condition and calibration meets the requirements
  • Ensure all product testing activities are performed in accordance with established procedures
  • Ensure the staff is properly trained, understand and follow the test procedures
  • Ensure the staff takes accurate measurement and prepare comprehensive test reports
  • Support the project development team by providing expertise regarding the product validation planning
  • Support the development in root analysis and problem-solving activities
  • Attend meetings with internal and external customers
  • Participate in ongoing performance management including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases and necessary corrective action
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory, Compliance and Ethics and/or customer requirements
  • Manage the testing expenses within budget
  • Provide testing cost estimation as needed
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in BSME or BS in engineering is preferred or substantial experience in related automotive engineering management

Experience:

  • Some Experience in Product validation Management
  • Experience with product development processes and disciplines preferably in an automotive industry
  • Experience in disciplined problem solving approach

Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Understanding of interior injection molding parts
  • Fundamental knowledge of analytical tools required (R&R, calibration, statistics, measurement error, uncertainty)
  • FMVSS experience of Interior Trim parts and Impact related experience required
  • Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office and testing environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures.
