Position: IT Business Partnering and PMO (Associate Director – Director)

Position Summary

Karuna is seeking an IT leader to provide oversight of the creation of internal IT business partnerships and IT project management office functions, with the goal of delivering IT projects on time, on budget, and within scope of approved business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define IT PMO process, governance, technology, training, and communication.
• Develop understanding of key business goals and operational requirements to advise on new or enhancements to existing IT cloud-based solutions and systems.
• Educate staff on existing IT portfolio to take advantage of existing solutions, where applicable.
• Partner closely with the Commercialization and Program Management teams to ensure IT roadmap is aligned to support launch strategy. Collaborate cross-functionally and within IT to identify dependencies and major risks.
• Form multi-phase strategic demand management process, partnering closely with IT leads to establish practices for planning, budgeting, prioritization, and governance.
• Develop long-term IT portfolio and roadmap. Publish and maintain visual timeline and project artifacts to ensure consistency in IT planning communication.
• Implement and roll out IT PMO solution to consolidate and automate IT status reporting and long-term roadmap. Ensure solution fits with company Program Management guidelines.
• Using an IT PMO solution as a foundation, establish and execute a communication strategy for IT roadmap and status reporting to ensure consistency and streamlined reporting of IT initiatives.
• Partnering with IT Compliance, form IT phases and gates process that supports varied development methodologies. Socialize with business groups to ensure a common understanding is formed around IT status and planning across the organization.
• Provide support for IT forecasting and budgeting processes.
• Provide subject matter knowledge and assistance for ServiceNow implementation.
• As IT Business Partner lead, establish strong relationships with organization leaders to guide towards solid decision making around new technologies, and to enhance existing solutions to support growth (some key areas of focus include R&D, HR, Finance, & Legal).

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or related discipline preferred.
• Extensive experience as member of IT staff in a pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology company.
• Extensive experience with people, process, technology, and governance for pre- and post-commercial environments involving pharma/biotech products.
• Extensive experience working across diverse IT staff and established roles, including infrastructure, enterprise systems-applications-MDM-BI, IT Compliance-Validation, and IT staff supporting marketing-commercial-medical affairs-market access.
• Public company experience.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Attention to detail and quality are critical to success.
